Question:
How do I enable Samsung Health integration from within the ChallengeRunner Android app?
Answer:
You will need to enable and authorize the ChallengeRunner Android app to collect data from Samsung Health. The following steps will allow the ChallengeRunner app to pull Steps, Distance, Calories, Active Minutes, and / or Sleep.
  1. Install the ChallengeRunner app on your Android device
  2. Sign in using your Id and Password. If you are currently enrolled in a challenge, you will be able to select the menu from the upper right hand corner of the screen and tap Fitness Trackers and then Samsung Health
  3. Click to Enable Samsung Health Integration. Optionally, you may choose to allow Samsung Health to automatically transmit data to ChallengeRunner once every 4 hours.
  4. A Samsung Health popup will appear. Toggle between Off and On. Then, enable Daily step count trend, Exercise, and Sleep
  5. Click Done
  6. Exit the Settings screen
  7. At this point, the ChallengeRunner app will sync with Samsung Health whenever it is opened. As mentioned above, it is also possible to enable automatic syncing; however, due to the fact that your smartphone can shut down apps at will and it relies on Samsung Health and possibly other apps syncing data, there are multiple points that would cause data to stop automatically transmitting to ChallengeRunner. Therefore, it is recommended that you verify your data is syncing regularly.
